CHESTER, Pa. Cheap Dolphins Jerseys For Sale . -- Sebastien Le Toux scored in the 31st minute, lifting the Philadelphia Union to a 1-0 victory over the New England Revolution on Saturday. Le Toux received a crossing pass from Leo Fernandes and sent the ball past goalkeeper Bobby Shuttleworth. Fernandes was a last-minute replacement for Union captain and midfielder Brian Carroll, who was scratched just before the game because of an illness. The Union were coming off a 1-1 draw at Portland in their opener. Philadelphia improved to 4-0-2 against New England at PPL Park. The Revolution were shut out for the second straight game. They began the season with a 4-0 loss at Houston and will play four of their first five games on the road. New Englands best chance to score came in the 38th minute when Diego Fagundez had a clean look from about 10 yards out. But goalkeeper Zac MacMath made the save. The Union played without injured starters Conor Casey (calf) and Sheanon Williams (quad). Mike Gesicki Jersey . - The Denver Broncos kept rookie wide receiver Tavarres King from joining the Green Bay Packers by promoting him to their active roster Tuesday. Mike Hull Jersey . PAUL, Minn.ARLINGTON, Texas -- Yu Darvish will get some extra rest before his next start after throwing 126 pitches in another near no-hitter. The Texas Rangers announced Sunday that Darvish will not start as scheduled Wednesday at Houston. The right-hander from Japan will instead pitch the series opener at home Friday against Toronto in place of lefty Martin Perez, who reported discomfort in his left elbow after not making it out of the fourth inning Saturday night in his third consecutive bad start. "I dont know because I dont know the particulars," manager Ron Washington responded when about his level of concern on Perez. "Weve just got to wait and see what the evaluation proves out." Perez allowed six runs and 14 runners (nine hits, four walks and a hit batter) in 3 2-3 innings of an 8-3 loss to Boston. Since the end of his 26-inning scoreless streak over three games, Perez (4-3) has given up 19 runs over 13 1-3 innings in his past three games, raising his ERA from 1.42 to 4.38. Perez will stay in Arlington for MRI and treatment instead of going with the team to Houston. The pitcher said he has never had elbow trouble in the past. "Im not nervous. I want to keep working and get in a good situation," Perez said after the Rangers 5-2 loss to Boston on Sunday. "I want to make sure everything is good. Its day to day." Darvish came within one out of a no-hitter Friday night in the sseries opener against the Red Sox before slugger David Ortiz grounded a clean single with two outs in the ninth on the aces 126th and final pitch. Jason Sanders Jersey. That was just short of his career high of 130 pitches. Nick Tepesch was scratched from his scheduled start Sunday for Triple-A Round Rock, and is slated to pitch for Texas on Wednesday in Darvishs spot before the Rangers have a scheduled day off Thursday. Tepesch was 4-6 in 19 games (17 starts) as a rookie last year for the Rangers, but has spent this season at Round Rock. The right-hander is 5-1 with a 1.58 ERA in seven starts for the Express. Right-hander Scott Baker and infielder Josh Wilson both cleared outright waivers after being designated for assignment Thursday. Baker, who pitched 5 1-3 innings in relief in his Rangers debut Wednesday, accepted an assignment to Triple-A Round Rock. The Rangers were still waiting for a decision from Wilson, who can refuse the move. The extra rest for Darvish could also be good news for the Astros. Darvish was within one out of a perfect game during his first start of 2013 in Houston when Marwin Gonzalez singled through the pitchers legs. Darvish then lost a no-hit bid with one out in the eighth inning against the Astros last August. Last month in Arlington, Darvish retired the first 15 Astros batters and pitched eight scoreless innings in what became a 1-0 Texas win in 12 innings. Wholeslae Jerseys NFL Jerseys Cheap Wholesale NBA Jerseys Cheap NHL Jerseys Cheap MLB Jerseys Wholesale Soccer Jerseys Cheap College Jerseys Cheap Football Jerseys Cheap Basketball Jerseys Cheap Baseball Jerseys ' ' '
The latest on injured Avalanche forward Matt Duchene remains a mystery. Kenny Young Jersey . On Sunday, head coach Patrick Roy said the teams leading scorer will skate at Mondays morning practice and the club will make a decision on his status for Game 6 at that point. Duchene has been out since damaging the MCL in his left knee when he ran into a teammate against San Jose on March 29. Hes been skating on his own all week, before joining the team Saturday hours before a pivotal game in a series tied at 2. Rookie Nathan MacKinnon says that knowing Duchene may return at some point is "definitely a huge momentum boost for us." VERO BEACH, Fla. Brandon Williams Jersey . -- Chad Johnson made a sharp cut to free himself from a defender, and then hauled in a pass at the 53-yard line. Yes, the 53. Football is going to be a little different now for the former NFL star. The receiver who once changed his last name to Ochocinco might be hearing a lot of "O Canada" this summer, and he insists hes humbled for that opportunity. Johnson was on the field with the Montreal Alouettes of the CFL on Tuesday for the start of their three-day minicamp, and theres a very realistic chance that he will be with them when their season starts for real in June. "Its just football. Its football," Johnson said. "Its not about Montreal. Its about the opportunity to be able to play football again, something I love." Its something he lost two years ago. Johnson last appeared in an NFL game during the 2011 season with New England. He was in training camp with the Miami Dolphins -- his hometown team -- the following summer, but his contract was terminated one day after he was charged with misdemeanour domestic battery. A plea deal was eventually worked out, but after a probation violation Johnson wound up going to jail for a few days anyway after a judge objected to the way he slapped his attorney on the backside in celebration. He hasnt played since. "A horrible mistake," Johnson said. "A dream of mine since I was 4 years old was taken from me, rightfully so, by my wrongdoings and I just want to get back to doing something that I love to do, regardless of where it is. Montreal, flag football, back in the street the way I grew up . I just want to play football." The Alouettes have a history of not judging players by their checkered pasts, as evidenced by how they once gave former Nebraska running back Lawrence Phillips a chance on what became a Grey Cup-winning team in Montreal. "Its all business," Alouettes general manager Jim Popp said. "Its real. Hes in great shape. He wants to play and well see how things are." Popp shrugged off the notion that Johnsons presence is a publicity stunt. "None of you would know it was here unless it got tweeted out," Popp said. And Twitter does play quite a role in this story, since Johnson -- one of the worlds most popular athletes when it comes to social media -- used the power of his 3.6 million followers to help get the Alouettes attention. "Power of Twitter," Johnson said, grinning. The Alouettes were working out at Dodgertown, where some schoolkids were playing baseball on a nearby field. When their game ended, about a dozen of them came over to the football field to chant "Oc-ho-cin-co!" repeatedly. Some fans wearing his old Cincinnati Bengals jerseys watched, as did a couple in Patriots colours. "Like a kid again," Johnson said. He showed Tuesday that he can still run routes, and right there is why Montreal is eager to take a closer look. The CFL game is very much passing-friendly, and that can be at least partially attributed to several rule deviations from the NFL game. Teams in the CFL have only three downs to gain 10 yards instead of four. The field is 10 yards longer from goal line to goal line, is about 10 yards wider, and the end zones are 20 yards deep -- twice as long as those used in high school, college and pro play in the U.S. Montreal quarterback Troy Smith, the former Ohio State standout, said most people dont realize how much talent is in the CFL. And he believes Johnson can make an impact. "I know hes going to bring some fun and excitement to the team," Smith said. In short, even though theres 12 players on the field per team instead of 11, theres plenty of room for offences to manoeuvr. And in Canada, receivers cant be blocked or jammed unless theyre within a yard of the line of scrimmage. Of course, if Johnson heads to the CFL, he wont be exactly getting rich. The salary cap in the CFL is $4.4 million per team -- Johnson has had years where hes made about twice that much by himself. The average salary is around $85,000. "I dont even need a check," Johnson said. "Didnt I give it all away for 12 years straight? Think about it. Did I ever care about money when I played throughout my career? Still dont. I want to have fun. I want to enjoy the game. Thats it." Korey Cunningham Jersey ." Those traits were clear to the 24,071 at Olympic Stadium on Saturday as the Impact dominated the scoring chances but settled for a 2-2 draw with the New York Red Bulls in a battle of still-winless Major League Soccer teams. Immanuel Turner Jersey . -- Arizona pitcher Bronson Arroyo is expected to miss a week to 10 days because of a back injury. CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- For the second straight season the Charlotte Bobcats are off to a strong start. But this time around point guard Kemba Walker feels a lot more confident about the chances of sustaining that success. The Bobcats just might if Walker continues to play as he did on Wednesday night. The third-year pro scored a season-high 31 points and the Bobcats handed the turnover-prone Brooklyn Nets their sixth loss in their past seven games 95-91. The win lifts the Bobcats to 6-6 on the season. They started 7-5 last season under former coach Mike Dunlap before losing 18 straight games and finishing 21-61, the second-worst record in the league. Dunlap was fired. This season, the Bobcats are finding success despite playing nine games without their best player, centre Al Jefferson, who has been in and out of the lineup with an ankle injury. "We are capable of a lot and being really, really good," Walker said. "We just have to be more consistent. Al is definitely going to help us a lot because he draws a lot of attention. "If I can keep on having nights like this when he comes back it will be great for us. With Gerald (Henderson) and Ramon (Sessions) and our other role players I think well be a tough team to play against every night." New coach Steve Clifford believes the Bobcats havent started to tap their potential and believes the good start isnt a mirage. "Were defending and rebounding," Clifford said. "We have yet to play any sustained time with our best offensive player. Were playing younger guys so there is a lot of room for improvement." Clifford said he hopes to have Jefferson back for Friday nights game against Phoenix. The Nets, meanwhile, arent so sure about when Deron Williams will return to the court after he sprained his ankle in the second quarter when he landed on Walkers foot and his foot twisted inward. He fell to the floor in pain, holding his ankle. He did not return to the game and finished with four points and two assists in 14 minutes. "We dont know how long hes going to be out but, hopefully its a speedy recovery," NNets coach Jason Kidd said. Cheap Arizona Cardinals Jerseys. Walker finished 12 of 20 from the field and knocked down four 3-pointers as the Bobcats snapped a seven-game losing streak to the Nets. The Bobcats nearly lost a 10-point lead with less than three minutes, but Walker hit two free throws with 6.1 seconds left to seal the win. Walker said hes been spending more time in the gym working on his jump shot and it paid off getting back to the basics. "Lately I have been taking a lot of off-balanced shots and making it tough for myself," Walker said. The Bobcats outscored the Nets 52-34 in the paint. "We were just being aggressive and took whatever they gave us," Walker said. "There were a lot of open lanes and we took them and were able to score." With owner Michael Jordan sitting on the end of the bench, the Bobcats started the second half with a 15-1 run to take control of the game. Walker had eight points during the stretch. The Bobcats led 53-50 at halftime behind 58 per cent shooting from the floor. Walker led the way with 14 points on 6 of 9 shooting. Andray Blatche led the Nets with a season-high 25 points while Joe Johnson added 19. However, the Nets had 18 turnovers and fell to 3-8. "Fifty-two points in the paint is unacceptable," Blatche said. "Thirty-plus points in a quarter is unacceptable. Its our song all season. We keep saying its early, but until we buckle down on defence, its going to be the same results. Weve got to take pride because its embarrassing. Its real embarrassing." Said Kidd: "The defence is something that weve got to get better at. Its something that we were working on the preseason and was something we thought coming into the season we could hold our hat on." Charlotte continues to play good defence, holding its opponent to under 100 points for the ninth time in 12 games. NOTES: Gerald Henderson scored 13 points and finished in double digits for the 10th time this season. ... Nets guard Alan Anderson had a season-high 16 points. ... Anaheim, CA (SportsNetwork. Derek Carrier Jersey .com) - Ryan Kesler scored a pair of third-period goals and added the winner in the shootout as the Anaheim Ducks stole a 6-5 victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday. The first meeting of last seasons Western Conference second-round series had the feel of a playoff game, especially after the clubs combined for five goals in a wild third period. Ryan Getzlaf scored with 1:39 left in regulation to force overtime, and goals from Jakob Silfverberg and Kesler in the shootout ended the Ducks three-game slide. Jason LaBarbera took over for an ineffective Frederik Andersen midway through the second period and made 14 saves before stopping Jeff Carter and Anze Kopitar in the shootout. That was the loudest regular season game Ive ever heard, said LaBarbera. It felt like the playoffs out there. Jonathan Quick made 44 saves in the loss, but the Kings fell for the sixth time in their last eight games. If it wasnt for Jonathan, it wasnt even close, said Kings head coach Darryl Sutter. Theyre a much better team than we are. They proved it last year. Kesler beat Quick from between the circles 2:35 into third period to knot things at 3-3, but Marian Gaborik and Justin Williams each scored less than four minutes apart to give the Kings a two-goal cushion. Gaborik skated in and snuck an odd-angle shot past LaBarbera at the 7:32 mark, and Williams chipped in a rebound with 8:59 to play. A gorgeous wrap-around goal from Kesler ignited the Honda Center crowd, and Getzlafs deflection of Devante Smith-Pellys turnaround shot with 1:39 remaining provoked an even louder response from the home fans. Sami Vatanen hooked Kopitar going in on a breakaway 9:21 into the opening period, and Kopitar backhanded one through Andersens legs for the early lead. LAs Drew Doughty scored his first goal of the season with 48.5 seconds left in the opening period with a rising slap shot into the right corner. Cam Fowler, who had missed Sundays loss to the Canucks, returned with a goal at the 7:07 mark of the second period to cut Anaheims deficit to 2-1. Just over two minutes later, however, Andersen let up a soft goal by whiffing on Trevor Lewis pedestrian wrister from the point, and Bruce Boudreau immediately pulled his starter. Silfverberg scored from the same spot as Fowler -- the right circle -- with 8:17 remaining in the middle stanza. Game Notes The Kings needed seven games to oust the Ducks in last seasons playoffs ... The Ducks have been without Corey Perry and Francois Beauchemin because of a viral gland infection that was identified Wednesday as the mumps. With their coach gone, they finally played offence the way he would have wanted. Amare Stoudemire made all seven shots in the first half, Anthony passed and shot well, and the Knicks shook off the surprising departure of their coach to rout the Portland Trail Blazers 121-79 on Wednesday night, snapping a six-game losing streak.BOSTON -- Putting together a five-game winning streak and getting 10 games above .500 were once common achievements for the Dallas Mavericks. Now, both are season highs as Dallas slowly works its way back into playoff contention in the Western Conference. Dirk Nowitzki scored 20 points, Shawn Marion finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds, and the Mavericks beat the Boston Celtics 102-91 Sunday night to extend their winning streak to five straight. "There are encouraging signs, but theres no way we can exhale or start feeling good," coach Rick Carlisle said. Jose Calderon added 18 points and Monta Ellis played through a sore hamstring and scored 11 for Dallas, which won for the sixth time in seven games and pulled 10 games above .500 for the first time this season at 31-21. "Were looking to move up," Nowitzki said. "If you look at the standings, (places) five through eight is only separated by a couple of games. Wed love to keep pushing." Vince Carter scored 14, Devin Harris had 12 points and Samuel Dalembert grabbed 11 rebounds for Dallas. The Mavericks led by six at halftime and pulled away in the third quarter by outscoring the Celtics 28-18. "The third quarter and the start of the fourth killed us and took us out of the game," Boston coach Brad Stevens said. Rajon Rondo had 15 points, 12 assists and eight rebounds for Boston, which had won three straight games. Jeff Green scored 18 and Jared Sullinger had 11 points and 12 rebounds for the Celtics. Boston managed to stay close through the first half despite shooting 27 per cent, then Dallas took command early in the third quarter and pulled ahead by as many as 24 points before the Celtics rallied when it was too late. "We still kept it close. That was the beauty of it," Sullinger said. "We played hard, but they just got awway and the deficit was so big we couldnt dig ourselves out of that hole. Benson Mayowa Jersey. ." The Mavericks opened the second half on a 16-5 run, holding the Celtics to two field goals through the first 6:29 of the third quarter. A 3-pointer by Green got Boston within 53-43, but Calderon answered from beyond the arc and Marion and Dalembert followed with layups to extend the Mavericks lead to 60-43. "In the third quarter, we were doing the same kind of defence, but now we were sharing the ball and making open shots and thats what the difference was," Calderon said. Bostons only scoring run in the period was a 4-0 spurt late on layups by Kris Humphries and Kelly Olynyk, which Dallas negated in the last minute on two foul shots by Harris and an alley-oop from Harris to Brandan Wright with 5 seconds remaining to give the Mavericks a 72-56 lead entering the fourth. Wright opened the fourth with another alley-oop from Carter, who added a layup for Dallas eighth point in a row and the Mavericks lead was up to 76-56. The Celtics put together a late run to make it close down the stretch before running out of time. Rondo and Green hit back-to-back 3-pointers to pull Boston within 96-84 with 2:25 remaining. Johnson added another 3-pointer with 1:18 to get the Celtics within 98-89, but Calderon hit a layup to put the Mavericks back up by double-digits. NOTES: Olynyk finished with 14 points and Humphries scored 10 for Boston. ... Marion got his seventh double-double of the season. ... The Mavericks had one other four-game winning streak this season, but had reached five beating Utah on Friday and Boston on Sunday. ... Rondo was the only Boston starter to make more than two field goals in the first half with four. ... Nowitzki scored 15 in the first half. ... ST. RaShede Hageman Jersey . LOUIS -- In both of Ryan Millers starts with the St. Louis Blues, theyve faced two-goal deficits. Both times, theyve rallied to win. Though theyre still learning what type of player Miller can be, it took no time at all to pick up on the calming influence projected from the man in net. "His disposition and the way he carries himself has a professionalism to it that I think over time just rubs off on everybody," coach Ken Hitchcock said. "Coaches, players -- from the time he comes into the building, the way he carries himself has a positive effect on everybody." Alexander Steen got the go-ahead goal early in the third period in a 4-2 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday night. Miller, who got a huge ovation during player introductions, made sure it stood up in his first home start since the Blues acquired him from Buffalo. "I dont think it was just another game," Miller said. "My sports psychologist will probably get mad at me for saying its just another game. "It was special. Its nice to get the win at home." T.J. Oshies short-handed goal tied it in the second period and he assisted on Steens 29th of the season for the Central Division leaders. Patrik Berglund started the comeback with his third goal in two games and Vladimir Tarasenkos empty-net score cinched it with a half-minute to go. Alex Killorn and Tyler Johnson gave Lightning goalie Ben Bishop, a St. Louis native and former Blue, an early cushion against an opponent thats had to come from behind in all four games since the Olympic break. "I would have liked to have done a little better," Bishop said. "Its one of those things where its nice to play in front of family and friends, and it would have been nice to get the W." Miller made his second career appearance in St. Louis and faced just 17 shots against a team playing on the road for the eighth time in 10 games. He made a nice glove save on Martin St. Louis with just under two minutes to play. The Blues also rallied from a 2-0 deficit to beat Phoenix 4-2 on Sunday. Theyre 19-4-2 against the Eastern Conference, including 11-0-1 at home. Tampa Bay is 3-7 in its last 10 games and was 1-3 on a four-game trip. "We had multiple-goal leads in three of the four games and we led in every single game, but if youre going to sit here and take 16 shots in one game, 17 shots in another game, 21 shots in another game and expect to win games, its not going to happen," coach Jon Cooper said. "Unacceptable." Oshie slipped past St. Louis in front of the net and then beat Bishop with a backhander for the Blues third short-handed goal of the season at the midpoint of David Backes minor slashing penalty. Backes dropped his gloves preparing to fight after trading hacks with Hedman. But Hedman backed off and the Blues captain was cordoned off by a linesman before skating off in anger. Backes threw his helmet down the corridor on his way to the locker room, and didnt play the rest of the period while getting medical attention from a blow to the jaw. "He might have me by 30 pounds and Ive had my nose fixed before, but at that point in the game I was trying to get a little bit of a spark and try to get the guys going," Backes said. "I dont really want to take a two-minute penalty there, but to get a short-handed goal on that sort of penalty makes you feel a little bit better." Killorn capitalized on a giveaway by defenceman Kevin Shattenkirk in the St. Louis zone for his 15th goal. Johnson scored on a power play for his 18th of the season and first in eight games with Brenden Morrow off for high-sticking at 14:49. He is out indefinitely.Martin injured his right wrist with 6:48 to play in the first quarter when he was fouled while shooting a 3-pointer. From that point on, Martin went on to score 34 points and make 6 of 9 3s in the 115-99 victory that snapped a five-game losing streak.Weve just got to come out and play with the guys we have, coach Flip Saunders said before the Wolves hosted the Spurs. It gives guys opportunities and weve just got to try to keep on improving individually and weve got to try to keep on improving as a team.Martin was actually a game-time decision that night after needing IV fluids while battling an illness for most of the day. He made no mention of the injury in his postgame remarks to the media.I realize the situation and after the guys worked so hard after the horrible road trip we had, Martin said after the game. Coach challenged us in practice. There was never a thought to not playing. You have to get out there with your teammates and show them that youre dedicated to being here. Its yet another crushing blow for a seemingly snake-bitten ffranchise that has not made the playoffs in 10 years and is rebuilding after trading All-Star Kevin Love this summer. J.J. Wilcox Jersey. .The Wolves are already playing without starting point guard Ricky Rubio, who is out indefinitely with a sprained left ankle, starting centre Nikola Pekovic, who will miss at least the next two games with a sprained right wrist and starting power forward Thaddeus Young, who is mourning the sudden passing of his mother. On a team starving for offence, Martin was the best thing the Wolves had going. He scored 34 in a defeat in Dallas that ended a six-game road trip and then got the Wolves off to a great start against the Knicks with 13 points in the first quarter.Martin is averaging 20.4 points and shooting 48.1 per cent on 3-pointers this season. The Wolves have not yet determined if Martin will need surgery to address the injury. Veteran Corey Brewer and youngster Shabazz Muhammad figure to get the bulk of the minutes in Martins place. The Wolves had just 10 healthy players for the game against the Spurs. Pekovic will be evaluated again early next week. If its deemed that he will be out at least another 10 days, Saunders said the Wolves could be granted a roster exception and add another player without having to move someone from their 15-player roster.___Follow Jon Krawczynski on Twitter: http://twitter.com/APKrawczynski Wholeslae Jerseys NFL Jerseys Cheap Wholesale NBA Jerseys Cheap NHL Jerseys Cheap MLB Jerseys Wholesale Soccer Jerseys Cheap College JerseysCheap Football Jerseys Cheap Basketball Jerseys Cheap Baseball Jerseys ' ' '

Messis 75th-minute goal answered some of the criticism the clubs all-time leading scorer had received for his lacklustre performances in the teams recent losses in the league, Champions League and Copa del Rey final. Barcelona was on its way to another defeat when Aritz Aduriz scored in the 50th, provoking a smattering of white handkerchiefs in the Camp Nou stands, but Pedro Rodriguez equalized when he slotted in Alexis Sanchezs scuffed strike in the 72nd. Barcelona still needed defender Javier Mascherano to block Mikel Ricos point-blank try in injury time to protect the three points after Cristian Tello had wasted one of numerous opportunities to put the result beyond doubt. "After the first half I thought that this wasnt to be our day after missing so many chances," said Barcelona coach Gerardo Martino, whose job probably depends on Barcelona catching Atletico to defend its title. "But we kept fighting. We played with a lot of heart to overcome a difficult week and a game that had turned against us. Messi defends himself on the pitch and I am happy for him." Barcelona moved provisionally into second place, four points behind leader Atletico Madrid. Madrid is two points behind Barcelona but with a game to play. Messi set up his winner after earning a foul on the edge of the area, and the Argentina forward used his left foot to finally beat Gorka Iraizoz after the goalkeeper had denied him twice. While not exactly his electrifying old self, Messi was active creating scoring chances from the start, but Alexis Sanchez sent Pedros pass off the bar from close range in the 38th. Barcelonas attack was working. Its defence, however, showed the same frailties that have plagued it in the second half of the season. Adurizs beautiful bicycle kick crashed into the post before goalkeeper Jose Pinto palmed away Markel Susaetas follow-up at thhe half-hour mark. Isaiah Ford Jersey. The patience of Barcelonas fans began to fray when Bartra lost the ball near his area and Aduriz expertly drove the ball into the corner of the net. And when Messi sent the ball wide one-on-one against Iraizoz a collective groan filled the stadium. But Pedro was finally able to steer the ball in when Dani Alves began a move from the right flank to start Barcelona on its way to a much-needed victory. "We knew that after all the opinions and criticism that we have received that we had to do our job and be professionals," Mascherano said. "We have to hold on to that small hope that if we win our games we can then see what happens. We cant just let (Atletico and Madrid) slip up and not be there." Bilbaos loss put its hold on fourth place and the last Champions League in danger after Sevilla closed the gap to three points by thrashing Granada 4-0, with the Basques hosting the Andalusian side next round. Sevilla, which opens its Europa League semifinal against Valencia on Thursday, eased past Granada thanks to Diego Mainzs own goal and goals by Kevin Gameiro, Stephane Mbia and Victor Machin. Celta Vigo outclassed Almeria with a 4-2 away win as forward Manuel "Nolito" Agudo netted a double, and Paulao scored one goal and set up another, but both for the wrong team, as bottom-side Real Betis slumped to a demoralizing 3-1 defeat at Rayo Vallecano. Celta kept Almeria in the relegation zone thanks to Nolitos brace and goals by fellow forwards Charles and Fabian Orellana, while Rafina set up two scores. Paulaos nightmare began in the 14th when he left his back pass woefully short of reaching goalkeeper Adan Garrido, and Rochina Raixes poached the ball to roll it in. The Brazilian defender followed that mistake by clearing a cross into his own net in the 27th. Paulao asked to be substituted and was replaced five minutes later, with the Rayo fans in Vallecas Stadium politely applauding him to show their support. Betis was left on the brink of relegation, 10 points from safety with four games to go. Wholeslae Jerseys NFL Jerseys Cheap Wholesale NBA Jerseys Cheap NHL Jerseys Cheap MLB Jerseys Wholesale Soccer JerseysCheap College Jerseys Cheap Football Jerseys Cheap Basketball Jerseys Cheap Baseball Jerseys ' ' '
ST. Roger Maris Jersey . LOUIS -- Matt Adams might want to have his fathers visit last longer. Adams homered for the third straight game -- all with his father in attendance -- and Matt Holliday also went deep, helping the St. Louis Cardinals to a 5-2 victory and series sweep Sunday over the Washington Nationals. Adams gave St. Louis a 2-0 lead in the second inning with a two-run shot on an 0-2 pitch, his sixth homer of the season. Adams father, Jamie, has been visiting from Pennsylvania on Fathers Day weekend. "Unfortunately, hes going to go home," Adams said. There were going to meet before Adams father left for the airport. "He might give me a big hug and start crying," Adams said. "Hes an emotional guy." Adams has homered in all three games since coming off the disabled list with a torn calf muscle. Holliday put St. Louis up 3-0 in the third with his fifth home run. St. Louis manager Mike Matheny never doubted his sluggers would start to hit the long ball after a slow start. The Cardinals are last in the National League in homers. "Weve been saying for months now these guys have done that," Matheny said. "Its not a surprise. Its not like these guys have never hit any home runs in their lives. I think that everybody just thought that we were either brainwashing them not to hit home runs or else they all lost it collectively and both of them are ridiculous." Last year, Adams had 17 homers in 108 games and Holliday had 22 in 141 games. "We knew that our power didnt go anywhere," Adams said. "We knew the type of hitters we are. We go out there on daily basis and grind through our at-bats." Jaime Garcia (3-0) pitched seven innings, allowing five hits and a run for St. Louis. He struck out six and walked two. Trevor Rosenthal got the final out for his 20th save. Washingtons Doug Fister (5-2) had his five-start winning streak snapped. He pitched six innings, allowing seven hits and four runs. "The two home runs were the biggest things for me," Fister said. "I need to find a better effort." St. Louis has won 12 of the last 14 regular-season meetings with Washington. The Nationals are 2-18 in the newest version of Busch Stadium. "We have a bitter taste in our mouths going home," Nationals outfielder Scott Hairston said. "I think we definitely didnt play up to our capabilities." The Nationals loaded the bases in three innings, stranded 10 runners and scored on two bases loaded walks. The timely hit didnt come for Washington. "Its the ebbs and flows of the game," Washington manager Matt Williams said. "Its that time of the year where heavy legs start to set in a little bit." Garcia pitched out of a one-out, bases-loaded jam in the second. Third baseman Matt Carpenter caught Sandy Leons grounder on a short hop and threw out Hairston at home. Garcia then struck out Fister. Jayson Werth drew a bases loaded walk in the fifth to cut the lead to 3-1. "I didnt have my best stuff today but at the same time you go out there and you compete," Garcia said. "You battle and you keep your team in the game." St. Louis got the run back in the fifth, when Kolton Wong snapped an 0-for-16 skid with a leadoff triple and scored on a sacrifice fly by Holliday, who has 999 RBIs in his career. Craig doubled home Holliday in the seventh for a 5-1 lead. Rosenthal walked pinch-hitter Adam LaRoche in the ninth with the bases loaded to make it 5-2. HAMILTON, Ont. -- Drew Willy did it again. Willys two-yard TD pass to Nic Grigsby on the final play rallied the Winnipeg Blue Bombers to a stirring 27-26 comeback win over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Thursday night. Grigsbys catch capped an impressive 11-play, 95-yard drive that began with 1:40 remaining and ended with Lirim Hajrullahus winning convert. On July 11, Willys 17-yard TD pass to Julian Feoli-Gudino with 28 seconds left gave the Bombers a 34-33 road win over the Montreal Alouettes. Feoli-Gudino had a hand in Thursdays victory, his clutch 22-yard catch putting Winnipeg (5-2) at the Hamilton two-yard, nice redemption after losing a fumble earlier in the quarter to end a promising drive. "We did it before against Montreal so I was saying in the huddle, Hey, weve been in the same situation before. Lets just go down there and get a touchdown, " Willy said. "I think every single guy had a piece of that drive, it was impressive to be a part of. "Thats everything a quarterback wants, you just want the ball in your hands to give your team a shot to win. Guys were just making terrific plays out there." Willys winning pass was hardly a thing of beauty. It was a high, fluttering throw into coverage that hung up in the air seemingly forever before falling softly into Grigsbys hands. "I was looking at Denny (Clarence Denmark) in the corner and I knew I had Grigsby in the flat and saw both were covered," Willy said. "I just wanted to give enough air where those guys go up and make a play and luckily Grigsby came away with the ball. "Im not going to say it was a skillful play because it really wasnt. We practise it all the time, we just made a play and sometimes thats how it goes." Willy finished 31-of-41 passing for 361 yards and a TD. Former Ticat Aaron Kelly had seven catches for 101 yards -- both game highs -- while Grigsby ran for 56 yards and a TD on 13 carries and added six receptions and 63 yards. Rookie Quincy McDuffies 66-yard punt return TD at 2:15 of the fourth earned Hamilton a 24-20 advantage, its first lead of the game. McDuffie, making his CFL debut, delighted a Ron Joyce Stadium gathering of 6,500 that was forced to endure a horrendous first half by the Ticats (1-4). Hamilton managed just two first downs and 22 net yards in the first half after registering two TDs and 158 yards on its first five plays in a 33-23 home win over Ottawa on Saturday night. And when Grigsby put Winnipeg ahead 20-3 with a 16-yard run at 2:38 of the third, it looked like the game was over. But quarterback Dan LeFevour -- who threw for 361 yards and a TD and ran for 109 yards and a touchdown against Ottawa -- hit C.J. Gable with a 48-yard scoring strike at 6:35. LeFevour, the CFLs offensive player of the week, scored on a two-yard run 12 seconds into the fourth to cut Hamiltons deficit to 20-17 before McDuffies electrifying return. Randy Johnson Jersey. Hamilton went ahead 26-20 after Hajrullahu was forced to boot the ball out of the end zone for a safety following a high snap at 3:53. Feoli-Gudino then fumbled after a nine-yard catch that Rico Murray recovered at the Hamilton 31-yard line with under six minutes remaining. "Its a good win for us but we dont want to keep having to do it that way, thats for sure," Bombers head coach Mike OShea said. "We recognize we made some mistakes . . . it looked like Hamilton was ready to take it but these guys just believe in each other and no one gave up. "When you get guys who are going to stick with their teammates, who are going to stick together, its a great thing." Hamiltons offence, which had over 550 yards against Ottawa, mustered just 218 net yards against Winnipeg. Willy and Co. rolled up 396 net yards offensively. LeFevour was impressive in his CFL debut as a starter against Ottawa but wasnt nearly so prolific against Winnipeg. He finished 19-of-33 passing for 189 yards with a TD and interception while running for just 15 yards on five carries. LeFevour was a dismal 4-of-12 passing for a paltry 17 yards in the first half but head coach/GM Kent Austin didnt blame his quarterback for the offences early struggles. "It wasnt Dan in the first half," Austin said. "No quarterback is going to be consistently in second and long against a defence like that and string first downs together." Instead, Austin blamed much of the loss on penalties as Hamilton was flagged 19 times for 114 yards. "Were not a good enough football team to overcome penalties," Austin said. "Were not that football team and I told the guys we play with great effort, were very resilient, we play hard, we play for 60 minutes but we cant get penalized like that." Robert Marve had Winnipegs other touchdown. Hajrullahu booted two field goals and the converts. Hamiltons Justin Medlock added a field goal and the converts. NOTES -- OShea began his CFL career with Hamilton in 93, being traded to the Ticats shortly after being drafted fourth overall by the Edmonton Eskimos. He was the leagues top rookie that year and spent three seasons in Steeltown before signing with Toronto as a free agent in 96 after being released by the NFLs Detroit Lions. The Argos dealt OShea back to Hamilton in 01 but returned to the Argos as a free agent in 02 and finished his playing career there through the 08 season . . . LeFevour is the first Ticats quarterback to make consecutive starts this season. . . . Winnipeg had just five penalties in last weekends 23-6 win over B.C., only one on offence. The Bombers had 10 penalties for 79 yards versus Hamilton. Wholeslae Jerseys NFL Jerseys Cheap Wholesale NBA Jerseys Cheap NHL Jerseys Cheap MLB Jerseys Wholesale Soccer JerseysCheap College Jerseys Cheap Football Jerseys Cheap Basketball Jerseys Cheap Baseball Jerseys ' ' '
ST. Brian Roberts Jersey . MORITZ, Switzerland -- Tina Weirather owes her immense skiing talent to her parents, who were both Alpine world champions. Only fitting then that the Liechtenstein racer should deliver a perfect birthday present to her mother, two-time Olympic gold medallist Hanni Wenzel. Weirather won a World Cup super-G race in St. Moritz on Saturday on her mothers 57th birthday -- and at the same resort where Wenzel became the slalom world champion in 1974. Weirather timed 1 minute, 17.38 seconds to finally climb atop the podium after finishing runner-up three times already this season. Kajsa Kling of Sweden was second, 0.31 seconds back, and Anna Fenninger of Austria trailed by 0.39 in third. Mother and daughter shared a celebratory hug in the finish area after the victory on a near-perfect still, sunny day in the Swiss Alps. "I had a parcel for her but this first place will be a bigger present," Weirather said at her winners news conference. Weirathers flair for speed certainly follows her father, Harti Weirather, who won downhill gold at the 1982 World Championships staged at Schladming in his native Austria. St. Moritz seems like the familys favourite place though, after Wenzels slalom gold and combined silver here when the 1974 worlds were held at the high-end resort just 120 kilometres (75 miles) from the border with tiny Liechtenstein. "I think its an awesome story because she was world champion," the 24-year-old Weirather said. "Now shes here and its her birthday." Weirather has podium finishes in three disciplines this season, suggesting she can challenge for the overall World Cup title her mother won in 1978 and 80. Weirather earned 100 race points Saturday and moved up to second overall, trailing 37 behind Lara Gut of Switzerland. Gut was the pre-race favourite on a course where she earned her first World Cup win as a precocious 17-year-old in 2008, but placed seventh, 1.12 back. Gut also retained her lead in the super-G standings. Lindsey Vonn of the United States, who won this race last year, skipped the St. Moritz meet which concludes with a giant slalom on Sunday. Vonn has chosen a lighter World Cup schedule to manage a knee injury before the Sochi Olympics. Kling almost spoiled the family party, continuing her breakthrough season at age 24. She never had a top-10 finish in a World Cup race before the downhill last Saturday at Lake Louise, Canada, and now has three in eight days. "Ive been working a lot with the physical training and mentally, because Im really nervous and now Ive learned to handle it at the start," Kling said. After a stellar 2013 season, the U.S. team is still seeking a first podium finish after six speed races in this World Cup campaign. Stacey Cook was best-placed in 16th, 1.74 behind, and Julia Mancuso was 20th, 1.92 back. Weirathers second career World Cup victory was also her second in super-G. She won in March at Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. She still has a long way to go to equal her mothers 33 World Cup wins, eighth on the all-time list. Wenzels Olympic record will also take some catching: Four medals including slalom and giant slalom golds at the 1980 Lake Placid Olympics. It is still early in the Sochi Olympic season, but Weirather is pointed in the right direction. Troy Tulowitzki Yankees Jersey .S. CLEVELAND -- The Cleveland Indians specialized in walk-off wins last season. Orlando Brown Jr. Jersey . It took 34 games, but they finally got their first walk-off this season on Wednesday night when Mike Aviles two-out single in the ninth inning lifted the Indians to a 4-3 victory over the Minnesota Twins. Clevelands players mobbed Aviles after he crossed first base. "Its definitely fun, especially with a noon game (Wednesday)," Aviles said. "Its always good not to play extra innings and get that big win at the end." "That was nice," Indians manager Terry Francona said. "We needed that." The Indians had 11 walk-off victories last season as they won 92 games and made the playoffs as a wild-card team. "Were playing at home and when you hit last you always feel like you have a chance," Francona said. The short-handed Twins were playing their third straight game without first baseman Joe Mauer and had only 11 available position players. Eduardo Escobar, normally a shortstop, played the entire game in left field, which cost Minnesota in the ninth. Asdrubal Cabrera led off the inning with a double against Casey Fien (3-1). Escobar misjudged the ball and turned the wrong way as it landed on the warning track. "He just didnt get to it, Im sure he shied away from the wall," Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said. "Hes not been out there a lot and it was going toward the wall over his head and he got to the warning track and felt that he was a little too close probably." After Lonnie Chisenhalls sacrifice bunt, Yan Gomes grounded out. Aviles hit a hard ground ball on a 1-1 pitch into centre field. John Axford (1-3), who had allowed game-winning home runs in his previous two outings, survived a shaky ninth. He retired the first two hitters, but Danny Santana doubled down the right-field line. After Brian Dozier walked on a 3-2 pitch, third baseman Carlos Santana, who had to contend with a fan who wanted the ball, leaned into the stands to catch Sam Fulds foul popup. "I was yelling from the mound, but I dont think he heard me," Axford said of the fan. "I was yelling, dont touch it. " Axford had a bad week going into the game. Chicagos Dayan Viciedo hit a three-run homer in the ninth inning Sunday while Escobar hit a solo homer in the 10th inning Monday, giving Minnesota a 1-0 win. Axford was unavailable Tuesday after pitching the three previous games. "I felt good," he said. "Physically, I feel great. It worked out perfect. I got a day off and was able to rest up." Danny Salazar, who hit 100 mph on the Progressive Field radar gun several times, took a 3-1 lead into the seventh, but Minnesota tied the game on pinch-hitter Santanas RBI single and Doziers sacrifice fly. Salazar retired the first hitter, but Josmil Pinto singled and took third when Escobar doubled to left-centre. Bryan Shaw relieved to face Santana, who batted for Pedro Florimon. Shaw had to hit the deck to avoid Santanas liner up the middle that scored Pinto and put runners at first and third. Doziers fly ball scored Escobar. Salazar allowed three runs and struck out seven in 6 1-3 innings. Ricky Nolasco gave up three runs with nine strikeouts in six innings. Michael Brantley had a two-run double in the third and Gomes hit a leadoff homer in the fifth. Dozier had an RBI double in the third. Mauer, who has lower back spasms, played catch and took swings off a batting tee before the game. Gomes home run atoned for his ninth error of the season that helped Minnesota score in the third. Florimon drew a two-out walk, stole second and took third when Gomes throw skipped into centre field. Dozier followed with his double. CALGARY - The CFLs marquee player gave the Calgary Stampeders a real scare in their 29-8 win over the Montreal Alouettes to open the season Saturday. Andrew Adams Jersey . Jon Cornish lay face down on the field in the fourth quarter after the Stampeders running back took a high, hard hit on the run from Alouettes linebacker Kyries Hebert. It looked grim for the CFLs leading rusher and most outstanding player in 2013 when an ambulance was summoned onto the field. But an immediate trip to the hospital wasnt required as the 29-year-old from New Westminster, B.C., got up and walked to the clubhouse accompanied by medical staff. "I was knocked out," Cornish said following the game. "Im going to have to go through concussion protocol 100 per cent. "Youd expect me to feel a little bit worse, but Im pretty good. I can remember what happened before and immediately after." What happened a few minutes before that play was Cornish running for an 18-yard touchdown off a direct snap to pad Calgarys lead to 26-1. The Stampeders posted the CFLs best record last season at 14-4 and were quick out of the gates to start 2014. An opening-day starter for the first time in his CFL career, quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell was efficient throwing for 313 yards, a pair of touchdowns and zero interceptions. The Texan completed 16 of 25 passes. He threw out of Calgarys end zone to Maurice Price for a 102-touchdown pass in the opening quarter and tossed to Anthony Parker for another major in the fourth. Rene Paredes kicked a pair of field goals and punter Rob Maver contributed two punt singles in front of announced attendance of 26,135 at McMahon Stadium. Cornish had 67 yards on 14 carries before leaving the game. "I thought we played very physical on both sides of the football and special teams, we played fast," Stampeder coach and general manager John Hufnagel said. "I think we took a first right step going in the direction we want to go. A lot of work to be done though." Montreal, 8-10 last season, have large wrinkles to iron out on both sides of the football. Troy Smiths season debut for the Alouettes marked the first time since 1999 a quarterback other than Anthony Calvillo was Montreals opening-day starter. The CFLs all-time passing leader retired in January after 16 seasons with the Alouettes. Smith, a former Heisman Trophy winner with Ohio State, completed 17 of 40 passes for 127 yards. He was sacked four times and intercepted once. Sean Whytes punt single was Montreals only point until fullback Steven Lumbala dove for a one-yard major on the final play of the game. A gaffe by Montreals secondary left Price open for his touchdown as the Als had two defenders on Calgary receiver Jeff Fuller. "I dont feel good at all," Smith said. "Theres a whole different feel when you leave the field after a weeks work of preparation and nothing works. "You definitely have to look yourself in the mirror and you have to understand that things arent going to go the exact ideal way that you want them to all the time. "Youve got to go back to the drawing board and accept the Calgary Stampeders played a great game today. They game-planned and they paid also, and they made plays." Former NFL star receiver Chad Johnson had two catches for 20 yards in his CFL debut. "Ive got a long way to go, man," Johnson said. "With this being my first time experiencing a real live game with the bullets flying, the level of competition is really not that far off from the NFL and the speed of the game is equivalent." Hebert was slapped with a major foul and ejected for his hit on Cornish. Calgary parlayed Montreals 25-yard penalty into another touchdown as Mitchell threw to Parker in the end zone. Cornish says hes yet to be diagnosed with a concussion in his career. The leagues top rusher the past two seasons said he bore Hebert no ill-will. "I dont really blame him," Cornish said. "I got a pretty good cut block on him earlier in the game, so thats how it goes sometimes." Hufnagel had said it was a "photo finish" between Mitchell and Drew Tate in choosing a first-day starting quarterback. Mitchell cleaned up his game considerably Saturday after a pre-season loss to the Lions a week earlier, when he completed half his pass attempts and was intercepted twice. The quarterback checked off the boxes of throwing touchdowns, moving the offence and not allowing any interceptions Saturday. "Im still not going to check the box of going out and doing exactly what I wanted to do and thats just making sure were executing on everything we can," Mitchell said. "A couple plays early on I can myself clean up. "I felt like there was a quarter where we didnt move the ball very well. I felt like I played good, but its easy when your receivers are making those kind of plays and your O-line is giving you time." Paredes, winner of the CFLs special-teams player award last season, booted field goals from 25 and 38 yards in the game. Maver kicked punt singles of 78 and 88 yards. Whyte was wide on a 39-yard attempt midway through the first quarter. Calgarys defence held the Als under 100 offensive yards in the first half when Charleston Hughes, Corey Mace and DeQuin Evans each recorded sacks and Hughes knocked down a pass. Juwan Simpson also sacked Smith later in the game. Cornerback Fred Bennett would have collected two interceptions in the half had his second not been negated by Deron Mayos horse-collar tackle on Smith. The Stampeders head immediately into their bye week. Their next game is in Toronto against the Argonauts on July 12. The Als host the B.C. Lions on Friday.
