BALTIMORE -- Ubaldo Jimenezs miserable season worsened Friday when the Baltimore Orioles right-hander was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained right ankle. Vegas Golden Knights Jerseys China . Jimenez twisted his ankle in a parking lot at his apartment complex on Wednesday. "We were looking at it today and its pretty puffy, taped up," Orioles manager Buck Showalter said Friday. "We were hoping it would resolve somewhat today. Did not." The move is retroactive to July 6, the day after Jimenez made his last start. Jimenez, 30, was scheduled to pitch against the New York Yankees on Saturday. He will be replaced by either Chris Tillman or Kevin Gausman. Very little has gone right this season for Jimenez after he signed a $50 million, four-year deal during the off-season. Hes 3-8 with a 4.52 ERA overall and 1-4 with a 5.79 ERA at home. Jimenez appeared to be back on track after he gave up an unearned run in eight innings against Texas on June 30. But he didnt last long in his last start, walking six against Boston before being yanked after 3 2-3 innings. The ankle sprain is not a first for Jimenez. "He had it in 2012," Showalter said. "The only reason I asked him that is I wanted to know how quickly it healed. Anybody whos rolled their ankle, they know once you do it once, it kind of falls on a similar pattern. And he did it pitching. They shut him down the last two or three starts in 2012." By being placed on the DL on Friday, Jimenez gets the benefit of being inactive at the same time the Orioles are on break for the All-Star game. "If it wasnt for the All-Star break, we might wait a couple days," Showalter said. "But its also the same ankle as 2012, and with ankles, Ive learned that you kind of take a look at the history with them. Its a lot weaker every time you put it in peril." Authentic William Carrier Jersey . The Bruins lead the series 3-2 and are trying to advance to the Conference Final for the second consecutive year. The action can be heard on TSN Radio 690 and TSN.ca/Montreal at 7:30pm et/4:30pm pt. The Canadiens find themselves facing elimination for the first time in these playoffs thanks to a 4-2 loss in Boston on Saturday. Reilly Smith and Jarome Iginla both scored power play goals while Carl Soderberg and Loui Eriksson added even strength markers for the Bruins, who moved a step closer to defending their Eastern Conference crown with the victory. The power play goals broke an 0-for-10 stretch the Bruins were on in the series that also dated back to an 0-for-39 post-season stretch against the Canadiens since Game 2 of their 2009 first-round series. "We expect that we are going to have to play our best game yet," said Iginla. "We know that they are going to try to use their crowd, and we are most likely going to need our best game of the series." Canadiens goaltender Carey Price, who made 26 saves in the Game 5 loss, believes his team will be ready to play in front of their home crowd. "You back any animal into a corner, its going to be desperaate," said Price. Cheap Adidas Vegas Golden Knights Jerseys. "I think were going to be a desperate hockey club coming into next game and I think were excited for the challenge." The Bruins also did their best to get under the Canadiens skin in Game 5. Forward Shawn Thornton was fined $2,820.52 by the league for skirting water on Canadiens defenceman P.K. Subban from the bench.  The fine is the maximum allowed under the collective bargaining agreement. For his part, Bruins head coach Claude Julien said that he did not approve of Thorntons actions while Subban on the other hand was not interested in being drawn into any controversy on the matter. "I dont need you guys to make it a big deal out of it," said Subban. "It is one of those irritating things when youre down 4-2. They beat us, thats not the reason why we lost. Its just one of those things that frustrates you even more towards the end of the game." The Canadiens are 3-1 at the Bell Centre after winning both games against the Tampa Bay Lightning and taking Game 3 in this series. Their only home defeat so far in these playoffs is a 1-0 overtime loss in Game 4 to the Bruins. Defenceman Nathan Beaulieu took part in practice this morning and later left with the regulars. He will be in thelineup this evening. Forward Daniel Briere, who was scratched on Saturday night, will also be back. Cheap Nike Chiefs Jerseys Chargers Jerseys China Wholesale Raiders Jerseys China Cowboys Jerseys China Cheap Giants Jerseys Hoodies Cheap Eagles Jerseys Free Shipping Cheap Nike Redskins Jerseys Lions Jerseys China Green Bay Packers Jerseys For Sale Wholesale Vikings Jerseys China Panthers Jerseys China Saints Jerseys China Cheap Buccaneers Jerseys Free Shipping Wholesale Cardinals Jerseys China Cheap Nike Rams Jerseys 49ers Jerseys China Wholesale Seahawks Jerseys China Cheap Nike Bears Jerseys Bills Jerseys China Cheap Nike Ravens Jerseys Cheap Falcons Jerseys Hoodies ' ' '
Austin, TX (SportsNetwork. Rockies Ryan McMahon Jersey .com) - Myles Turner scored 19 of his career-high 26 points in the first half to lead No. 9 Texas to a 106-61 win over Lipscomb on Tuesday. Turner also grabbed nine rebounds with six blocks in the lopsided win. Jonathan Holmes and Jordan Barnett added 17 and 11 points, respectively, for the Longhorns (9-1). I was just playing within myself, Turner said of his first half. My teammates have always been telling me to do that. Dont worry about what anybody is saying, just get in the flow of the offense. I feel like I did that tonight. Malcolm Smith tallied 17 points and Josh Williams deposited 13 for the Bisons (4-6). Texas shot 59 percent from the floor in the first half, including 53 percent from beyond the arc, to take a 58-32 lead at the break. Seven players made a 3-pointer for the Longhorns in the opening 20 minutes. Turner knocked down a trey with 13 minutes remaining in the half to give the hosts a 22-12 edge. That basket ignited an 18-6 burst that Turner capped minutes later with a pair of free throws. Kendal Yancys jumper five minutes into the second half pushed the margin to 30, then Demarcus Hollands basket less than 10 minutes later made it a 40- point game as Texas cruised. Game Notes The Longhorns improved to 6-0 at home this season ... Lipscomb had its two- game winning streak snapped ... Holland handed out a game-high eight assists for Texas ... The Bisons were limited to 31 percent shooting ... Cousins shot 10-of-14 from the floor and made 10 of his 11 free throws for the Kings, winners in four straight after opening the season with a home loss to Golden State. They topped the Nuggets in Denver on Monday, 110-105. Playing defense, I believe, helps build chemistry. We trust in one another and its going over to the other side of the floor, Cousins said. Rudy Gay continued his hot start to the season with 29 points, and Carl Landry added 18 off the bench. Randy Foyes 19 points led the way for Denver, which got 13 points and nine assists from Ty Lawson. Every game is going to be a tough game for us, weve not that good right now, Nuggets coach Brian Shaw said. Denvers only lead of the game came early on, when Chandlers triple made it 3-2. Ben McLemore hit two freee throws and a turn-around jumper at the other end, and Sacramento led the rest of the way. Rockies Jerseys China. Cousins nearly matched the Nuggets by himself in the first quarter, scoring 16 to their 19. Gay chipped in with nine, Darren Collison scored seven and the Kings led 40-19 after one. Denver controlled the second quarter, opening the frame on a 6-0 run and pulling back within nine points midway through after Foyes 3-pointer. Twice the deficit reached eight, but Cousins dunk seconds before halftime made it 68-54. The third quarter played out much like the first, with the Kings asserting their dominance. Two Gay free throws at 7:09 capped a 14-4 run, and the rout was back on. Sacramento led 105-72 after three and cruised with its reserves down the stretch. SAN DIEGO -- Padres manager Bud Black had been waiting for his hitters to come around. Authentic Rick Mahorn Jersey . With an early crack at the New York bullpen, thats exactly what they did. Will Venable had four hits and San Diego got home runs from Nick Hundley and Jedd Gyorko in an 8-2 victory over the Mets on Saturday night. Mets starter Jenrry Mejia left early with discomfort in his surgically repaired elbow, and the Padres took advantage when New Yorks relief corps was pressed into service. San Diego finished with 15 hits in snapping a three-game losing streak. "The bats woke up a little bit," Black said. Edinson Volquez (9-10) worked five innings for the win and Venable extended his career-high hitting streak to 14 games, the longest active run in the National League. "Im just trying to keep my rhythm and swing at strikes," he said. Volquez earned his first career victory against the Mets despite reaching 100 pitches in five innings. "I had a couple of long innings and my pitch count got high," he said. "But the best part was the win after losing three. Everyone can go home happy." Mets catcher Travis dArnaud, a highly touted prospect acquired in the R.A. Dickey trade last off-season, went 0 for 2 with two walks in his major league debut. The Padres stole three bases against dArnaud and he allowed a passed ball. Mejia exited in the fourth after throwing two balls to Logan Forsythe. The right-hander, who had Tommy John surgery in 2011, walked off the mound and was met by manager Terry Collins. Mejia has been pitching with a bone spur, and it had been determined that he would undergo off-season surgery. "We knew that there was a time when it might come back," Collins said. Mejia was replaced by David Aardsma, and moments later the Padres broke a 1-all tie. Forsythe singled off Aardsma (2-2) and scored on Hundleys two-run homer to left field. It was Hundleys second hit in his first game back after spending two days on the paternity list. "Thats the best moment of my career by far," Hundley said of his career-high 10th homer. "I couldnt stop smiling. I thought about my daughter and got a little emotional on the bench." The Padres stretched their lead to 4-1 when Alexi Amaristas sharp single scored Venable after he doubled down the right-field line. The Mets cut it to 4-2 on Wilmer Flores RBI double in the fifth. The Padres pushed it back to 5-2 on Jesus Guzmans RBI single in the bottom half. Gyorko added a three-run homer in the eighth. Venable singled in his first at-bat and stole second. Amarista moved Venable to third with a groundout and, when Yonder Alonso walked, the Padres had runners on the corners. Mejia retired Gyorko, but Chris Denorfia followed with a run-scoring single. San Diegos 1-0 lead was in jeopardy in the second, when the Mets loaded the bases with two outs on walks to dArnaud and Omar Quintanilla and a single by Juan Lagares. Mejia hit a chopper near the plate, with Volquez and Hundley converging on it. Volquez fielded the ball near the first base line and threw across his body to nip Mejia at first. But the Mets tied the game in the third on Daniel Murphys RBI single, which scored Eric Young Jr. after he reached on a bunt and stole second. Now, the Mets will see how Mejias rebuilt elbow responds after he was forced from the game. "It was a matter of pain threshold and it was exceeded apparently (Saturday night), and he had to come out," Mets general manager Sandy Alderson said. "The doctor here took a look at him but at this point its about his symptoms. Obviously severe and we will see where this takes us." NOTES: New York called up dArnaud from Triple-A Las Vegas after starting catcher John Buck went on the paternity list Friday. Both were obtained in the December deal that sent Dickey to the Toronto Blue Jays. ... DArnaud will catch All-Star RHP Matt Harvey on Sunday, a tandem the Mets hope is a foundation for the future. "That certainly will be a challenge for him because Matt is a different animal than those other guys," Collins said. "But as I talked to Travis this morning, I said, Listen, weve got a game plan. Stay with it. Trust it, and obviously have some input if something isnt working." ... Padres C Chris Robinson was optioned to Triple-A Tucson when Hundley was activated. ... Struggling 3B Chase Headley sat out. Headley was 2 for 8 in the series after hitting .160 (4 for 25) on the last road trip. "He hasnt had many days off, so physically its good, and mentally as well," Black said. "The last five, six games he has been going at it pretty hard both ways." ... CHICAGO -- Chris Johnson can rest easy during the All-Star break. Yankees Neil Walker Jersey . He earned a couple days off. Johnson had three hits, including his third homer in two days, and the Atlanta Braves beat the Chicago Cubs 10-7 on Sunday to keep pace with Washington at the top of the NL East. Johnson hit a long drive to straightaway centre field for a three-run shot in a four-run third inning against Travis Wood (7-8). Johnson also went deep twice in the Braves 11-6 victory at Wrigley Field on Saturday. "The biggest thing for me is the fact Im swinging at strikes," he said. "When I swing at strikes, I can do some good things." Atlanta (52-43) has won three of four since a four-game losing streak. It heads into the break one percentage point behind the division-leading Nationals, who won 10-3 at Philadelphia. "We had a pretty good first half, better than pretty good," manager Fredi Gonzalez said. "Now weve got to enjoy this break and come out in the second half and keep firing." The Braves played without struggling second baseman Dan Uggla, who was suspended by the team for the series finale at Chicago. Atlanta announced the punishment on its Twitter feed, with no further explanation, and Gonzalez called it an "internal matter." The last-place Cubs (40-54) have lost eight of 10. Arismendy Alcantara and Chris Coghlan each hit a two-run homer off All-Star Julio Teheran (9-6). It was the first career shot for the 22-year-old Alcantara, who also had a bloop double in the first and is batting .391 (9 for 23) in his first five major league games. "With my ability, Im having fun," Alcantara said. "It can be fast. Im having fun." Chicago scored three times in the eighth, highlighted by John Bakers two-run double, but Jordan Walden got Junior Lake to fly out to centre with a runner on second for the final out of the inning. All-Star Craig Kimbrel then worked the ninth for his 29th save in 33 opportunities. "We put ourselves in a position potentially to even edge closer, and we just fell a little short," Cubs manager Rick Renteria said. Teheran pitched seven innings in his first start since a rough outing against the Mets. The right-hander lasted just 3 1-3 innings in an 8-3 loss at New York on Tuesday. Teheran retired 12 in a row after Chicago put runners on first and second with two out in the first. He allowed seven hits while improving to 2-0 in four career starts against the Cubs. "I know that my last outing I didnt have a good outing," said Teheran, who is ineligible for the All-Star game because he started on Sunday. "Just trying to come back like I did twice this year." Wood was charged with seven runs and seven hits in six innings. The left-hander is 0-3 with a 6.49 ERA in his last five starts. Wood issued leadoff walks in the second, third and fourth innings, and the first two were costly. Gerald Laird had a two-run double in Atlantas three-run second, and Jason Heyward singled home a run before Johnson connected in the third. Johnsons sixth homer was part of his 30th multihit game of the season. The third baseman was walked intentionally in the seventh to get to Tommy La Stella, who doubled home three runs to give the Braves a 10-2 lead. The 34-year-old Uggla has played sparingly since La Stella was promoted from Triple-A Gwinnett on May 28. The three-time All-Star is batting .162 with two homers and 10 RBIs in 48 games. Gonzalez said he expects Uggla to be with the team when it resumes play on Friday night against the Phillies. He also isnt worried about the effect of the suspension on his team. "I dont think so. I got a pretty good pulse of our clubhouse," he said. "If anybody wants to talk to me, my door is always open. And they know that." NOTES: Atlanta also promoted INF Phil Gosselin from Gwinnett before the game. ... Wood will start Chicagos second game after the All-Star break. RHP Edwin Jackson (5-10, 5.64 ERA) starts the series opener Friday night, and RHP Jake Arrieta (5-1, 1.95 ERA) pitches next Sunday against the Diamondbacks. ... RHP Ervin Santana (7-6, 4.01 ERA) will start Friday night against Philadelphia in Atlantas first game after the break. PITTSBURGH -- Yovani Gallardo was pitching so well he just needed one run to get a win. Justin Coleman Jersey . His catcher got him all the support he needed, with some help from an eager fan. Gallardo pitched seven crisp innings, Jonathan Lucroy doubled and scored on Aramis Ramirezs groundout, and the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 1-0 on Sunday. "Yo was outstanding," Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said. "Just hung in there and made some great pitches, got better as the game went on." Gallardo (4-4) had a season-high eight strikeouts in his second win in his last three starts. He allowed four hits and walked one. The Pirates had at least one baserunner in five of Gallardos seven innings, but the right-hander got sharper as the game progressed. "I was able to get out of some big situations and make pitches," Gallardo said. "Thats always something positive to go from." Jeff Locke also pitched seven solid innings in a spot start for the Pirates. Locke was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis to start in place of Charlie Morton, who was pushed back a day to Monday. Pittsburgh also put right-hander Gerrit Cole on the 15-day disabled list with shoulder fatigue. Locke (0-1) struck out five and walked one in his second start of the season. The left-hander, who made the All-Star team last season, allowed six runs and eight hits in 5 1-3 innings against San Francisco on May 5. "He gave us everything we could have asked for him to give us today," manager Clint Hurdle said. "And more." Locke said he benefited from being "on the same page" with catcher Russell Martin. "We just knew I was going to pitch my game," he said. "He just put down the right fingers and moved the ball around a little bit." Lucroy sparked the only scoring sequence of the game when he led off the seventh with a liner down the left-field line that was grabbed by a fan while it was in play. Lucroy was awarded a ground-rule double on the interference. Lucroy went to second on Carlos Gomezs lineout to centre and scored on Ramirezs bouncer to first. The Pirates then loaded the bases with one out in the bottom half. But Gallardo struck out pinch-hitter Jose Tabata and Josh Harrison popped out to second to end the inning. Pittsburgh left 10 runners on base in its 10th loss in 13 games this season against NL Central-leading Milwaukee. Martin and Hurdle also were ejected in the eighth. With two out and Andrew McCutchen on third, Martin looked a called third strike on a curveball from Francisco Rodriguez on the lower-inside edge of the plate. Martin spiked his bat and helmet in the batters box. Hurdle then confronted umpire Ed Hickox about the call and was thrown out. Roenicke said he thought the pitch looked questionable based on the way his catcher reacted to it. "(Lucroy) made that pitch look a little not-as-good-as it probably was," Roenicke said. "Just because he was maybe in between trying to block or decide where the ball was going to end up." Lucroy said he did not think the pitch was a strike. The Pirates then put runners on first and second in the ninth, but Rodriguez got Travis Snider to hit into a fielders choice that advanced Starling Marte to third and retired Harrison for his 19th save. "I ended up making the right pitches to get out of (the jam)," Rodriguez said. "So its definitely a nice win." NOTES: Lucroy had three hits and improved his batting average to .335, third-best in the National League. ... Morton (2-7, 3.31 ERA) got an extra day of rest and will pitch against Chicago on Monday. ... Milwaukee RHP Marco Estrada (5-2, 4.19 ERA) starts when the Brewers begin a three-game series with the Mets on Tuesday. Rashaad Penny Jersey . SIMONS ISLAND, Ga.CINCINNATI - The Browns and Bengals were playing for first place late in the 1986 season. Bernie Kosar set the tone on the first play, throwing a long completion to Reggie Langhorne at Riverfront Stadium.Marty Schottenheimers team pulled away to a 34-3 victory that day. Sam Wyches Bengals couldnt get anything going — not even with Boomer Esiason throwing to Cris Collinsworth — as the Browns dominated. Why the history lesson?Thats the last time Ohios two NFL teams played with first place at stake so late in a season. The Bengals (5-2-1) are alone atop the AFC North, with everyone else right behind. The Browns (5-3) could move into a first-place tie with Pittsburgh (6-3) and show theyre ready to be taken seriously as a contender Thursday night at Paul Brown Stadium.A victory would give the Browns a three-game winning streak, their best start since 1994, and a lot of credibility as an up-and-coming team.Itll certainly be a good measuring stick because Cincinnati this year has been probably the best team in the AFC North, left tackle Joe Thomas said. If we want to win the AFC North, were going to have to beat Cincinnati, and this is our first opportunity. What about stage fright? If youre at this point in your career, youve played on multiple national-stage games, quarterback Brian Hoyer said. Guys have been in Super Bowls, playoff games. This isnt like the high school team playing on the weekly Friday night game on TV.The Bengals are trying to gain respect, too. The defending division champions have developed a reputation for playing well most of the time but falling apart in the biggest games. Theyve reached the playoffs each of the last three seasons and gone 0-3 in the post-season.They had their first chance to make an impression during a Sunday night game in New England on Oct. 5 and got drubbed 43-17.They get a chance to make a second impression Thursday night, this time at home. You love to have that type of atmosphere, especially at here at home in front of the whole nation, defensive tackle Domata Peko said. It gives us an opportunity to bounce back from our slip-up we had against the Patriots. Its another prime-time game, and well be ready to go.Things to watch at Paul Brown Stadium on Thursday night:STILL EMOTIONAL: Bengals defensive tackle Devon Still will have his 4-year-old daughter, Leah, watching him play for the first time. Barkevious Mingo Jersey. The girl is fighting cancer, but was well enough to fly from Philadelphia. The Bengals raised money for pediatric cancer research by donating money from his jersey sales to Childrens Hospital in Cincinnati. Theyll present a check for more than $1 million on the field, with Leah participating in an emotional moment. The crowd will go crazy, Still said. Theyve been supporting her this whole time with her being all the way in Philadelphia, and I know with her being in Cincinnati and them having a chance to see her, its going to get the crowd kind of hyped up.BENGALS BAD AT NIGHT, BROWNS BAD ON ROAD: Both teams are working against their history in this one. The Bengals are playing in prime time for the second time this season. That lopsided loss in New England left them 18-40 in prime time. The Browns havent won an AFC North game on the road since Sept. 28, 2008, dropping their last 17 away from home against division rivals.GREEN VS. HADEN: The game reprises one of the best cornerback vs. receiver matchups in the NFL, Joe Haden against A.J. Green. The receiver managed only nine catches for 58 yards total in the two games last season. Green missed three games with an injured big right toe, but returned last Sunday and caught three passes for 44 yards and a touchdown during a 33-23 win over Jacksonville. The Bengals are hoping to increase his time on the field Thursday.LITTLE VS. BROWNS: Receiver Greg Little tore into the Browns during the week for releasing him last May after three inconsistent seasons. The Bengals signed him to shore up their depleted group of receivers, and hes caught four passes for 55 yards in three games. Little is eager to have a big game and show up his former team.BROWNS ON THE RUN: Clevelands running game hasnt gone anywhere lately. In the past three, the Browns have managed only 69, 39 and 50 yards while averaging 1.9 yards per carry. The Bengals are known for pressuring quarterbacks, so itll be up to Clevelands running game to keep them honest and keep Hoyer off the ground.___AP Sports Writer Tom Withers in Cleveland contributed to this report.___Online:AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org and http://twitter.com/AP_NFL Cheap Nike Chiefs Jerseys Chargers Jerseys China Wholesale Raiders Jerseys China Cowboys Jerseys China Cheap Giants Jerseys Hoodies Cheap Eagles Jerseys Free Shipping Cheap Nike Redskins Jerseys Lions Jerseys China Green Bay Packers Jerseys For Sale Wholesale Vikings Jerseys China Panthers Jerseys China Saints Jerseys China Cheap Buccaneers Jerseys Free Shipping Wholesale Cardinals Jerseys China Cheap Nike Rams Jerseys 49ers Jerseys China Wholesale Seahawks Jerseys China Cheap Nike Bears Jerseys Bills Jerseys China Cheap Nike Ravens Jerseys Cheap Falcons Jerseys Hoodies ' ' '
MONTREAL -- Racing fans can expect the annual revving of high-speed engines at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve for at least another decade, as the Formula One Group reached an agreement worth more than $200 million to bring the Canadian Grand Prix back to Montreal through 2024. Miles Plumlee Jersey . The Grand Prixs future in Montreal was secured with the help of substantial governmental investment: $62 million from the federal government, $50 million from Quebec, $62 million from Tourisme Montreal and at least $32 million from the City of Montreal. Montreal mayor Denis Coderre was on hand at the racetrack on Ile Sainte-Helene for the announcement on Saturday morning, alongside ministers of infrastructure and transport from the provincial and federal governments. "This is the place to be this weekend, and this is the place to be for the next 10 years," said Coderre, who worked on the deal for several months with Formula One. "The Canadian Grand Prix is part and parcel of Montreal. It is one of the big international events that builds on Montreals outstanding reputation and ranks it among the worlds great cities." As a condition to the agreements success, the City of Montreal also agreed to renovate the track, including making improvements to the team paddocks, the control tower, and the on-site medical centre, for which it will spend $25 million to $40 million. Coderre promised work would begin this fall and would be completed in time for the 2017 Canadian Grand Prix. "The importance of this showcase to Montreal is beyond measure," said the mayor. "If Montreal wants to present itself as a metropolis, and join the ranks of other great cities around the world, we have to maintain this high level of authority. Its our signature. Its part of our DNA. It is one of the big international events that builds on Montreals outstanding reputation." The deal is big. Montreals Formula One weekend attracts visitors from around the world, and repeatedly rakes in roughly $70 million to $90 million a year. It is broadcast in 150 countries and watched by approximately 300 million viewers worldwide. And its not just great for the City of Montreal, says former-F1 champion Jacques Villeneuve. Beyond the dollars and cents, Villeneuve believes the track named after his father is simply one of the most exciting in the world from a racing standpoint. "Its great for the teams and the drivers because its a fun track," he said on Friday in anticipation of the announcement. "Its a good venue. Everybody likes coming here. They come in a few days early. Its party time all week. Theres good energy." Villeneuve ranked Montreal as one of the top-four racing destinations, together with Monaco, Melbourne, and Singapore. "Its one of the few races that look different, where theres action," he said. "If you look at the modern tracks, you could be anywhere. They all look the same. And you fall asleep on your couch. Its one of those few that you need to keep on the calendar to keep Formula One special." Circuit Gilles Villeneuve -- all 4.3 kilometres of it -- is known for its sharp hairpin turn after the pit area, early safety cars, its tight Senna curves, and the kilometre-long straightaway along the Olympic basin that allows for speeds up to 300 kilometres per hour. Red Bulls Sebastian Vettel, who finished third behind Mercedes drivers Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg in Saturdays qualifying session, says Montreal is one of his favourite races of the year. "Its one of the few places in the calendar where the whole city really parties all weekend long and embraces the Grand Prix and really appreciates it," he said. "For us, thats a great feeling, to stand on the grid and have so many fans during the drivers parade and when you race. Seeing the full grandstands makes your job extra special." "Its a great track, the fans are fantastic, so enthusiastic," added Rosberg. "Im very happy and Im sure everybody else is that well be coming here more often in the future." Charlotte, NC (SportsNetwork. Brewers Paul Molitor Jersey .com) - Kemba Walker 15 points, Al Jefferson and Bismack Biyombo both had 12 and the Charlotte Hornets held off the Miami Heat, 78-76, for their eighth win in nine games. Walker returned from a two-game absence and overcame a 4-for-17 shooting night, hitting 5-of-6 free throws in the final 1:14 of the game to help Charlotte hold its lead, which it owned most of the game. The Hornets led 65-55 through three quarters when Miami made things interesting. In the first half, we were just getting our tails kicked, said Heat coach Erik Spoelstra. Second half we were better with it. Dwyane Wade scored four points to open the fourth and Shawne Williams followed a Jefferson jumper with the next five. Jefferson was the only Hornet to score over the first 7:17 of the period. Consecutive 3s by Chris Bosh and Mario Chalmers near the 4:00 mark gave Miami its first lead since midway through the first quarter. The Heat then went three-plus minutes without scoring, missing five straight shots after the Chalmers trey. A pair of Walker free throws tied the game, and Marvin Williams split a pair at the stripe to make it 75-74 with 56 seconds to play. After Shawne Williams missed a quick 3, Walker sank two more from the line. Basketball is a game of runs, said Walker. It was up to us to stay mentally tough, get stops, and make plays on our end. Trailing by two in the closing seconds, Bosh missed everything with a 3- pointer from the top of the key. Chalmers tracked down the rebound, and his final shot from the corner missed short. Wade and Bosh both scored 17 points for the Heat, losers in three of four. Game Notes Walker missed the previous two games because of a knee injury ... The 145th Open Latest leaderboard I think weve seen two very different days. Thursday was a perfect day where it was warm and the wind going out made the course a lot easier. We saw Phil Mickelson tie the Open record round and have a chance for a 62, where he hit a heck of a putt which didnt quite make it.The second round was totally different, as the wind completely switched directions and it was cold and rainy. Even with those poor conditions though, the golf has still been very good. Ten under par is leading heading in to the weekend, which is pretty darn good after two days here. For Phil Mickelson not to win this tournament I think hes going to need to have a bad round and right now I just cant see that happening. Butch Harmon If you look at Dustin Johnson starting out, his swing was a little out of sync on Thursday. He did some good work on the range with Claude while I was on TV and said he warmed up well. He started his second round a little iffy, and after managing to knock it to three feet at the first hole he still missed it.After that though, he started to settle down and got himself back up to two under. Hes a long way behind, but he still has two rounds to go and he has the tendency to get better each round. Get a Sky Sports Pass Dont miss The Open. Watch live on NOW TV today for £10.99. It appears at times that his concentration lapses and that often hurts him a little bit over 72 holes, but he has handled the elements and mentally stuck to his job. Before it started I was never going to pick my guys as thats not fair, but I always felt Stenson was one who could impress and right now hes making me look good! Links golf will sort you out and if youre not 100 per cent in control of what youre doing in your swing and control of the ball, it will get you as you cant fake it around here. You could tell last week at Castle Stuart though that Mickelson, who shot 66 in the last round, was trending in the right direction heading in to this week. He did what you have to do in Links golf on Thursday in hitting most of the fairways and only taking 26 putts, which is what you have to do to shoot a low round. Mickelson impressed in the rain Mickelson looks awfully good right now and is in complete control of his game. I love that how he has really adapted to playing links golf over the past four years or so.Hes not trying to overpower the golf course and is really taking what the course is giving him. Hes putting beautifully and hes the most creative guy Ive ever seen play golf, as his short game is phenomenal. I think hes going to be hard to beat. For Phil Mickelson not to win this tournament I think hes going to need to have a bad round and right now I just cant see that happening.  Open on Sky Ways to watch The Open Watch The Open throughout the week on Sky Sports - your new home of The Open Also See: Royal Troon leaderboard The 145th Open: Day two recap Ways to watch The Open Golf live on Sky Sports Cheap Nike Chiefs Jerseys Chargers Jerseys China Wholesale Raiders Jerseys China Cowboys Jerseys China Cheap Giants Jerseys Hoodies Cheap Eagles Jerseys Free Shipping Cheap Nike Redskins Jerseys Lions Jerseys China Green Bay Packers Jerseys For Sale Wholesale Vikings Jerseys China Panthers Jerseys China Saints Jerseys China Cheap Buccaneers Jerseys Free Shipping Wholesale Cardinals Jerseys China Cheap Nike Rams Jerseys 49ers Jerseys China Wholesale Seahawks Jerseys China Cheap Nike Bears Jerseys Bills Jerseys China Cheap Nike Ravens Jerseys Cheap Falcons Jerseys Hoodies ' ' '
Put your socks back on, turn off your calculators and no need to study up on the law of probability after Costa Rica followed up their demolition of Uruguay with a thoroughly well-deserved victory over Italy, the 1966 World Cup winners can pack their bags for home. Authentic Mateen Cleaves Jersey .  You have to go all the way back to Sweden 1958 for the last time England was knocked out of a World Cup at the Group Stage.  At least then England went into their third and final group game against the Soviet Union knowing even a draw may have been enough to reach the knockout stage.  Outside of other World Cups where England were either not permitted to enter, or were eliminated in qualifying, Brazil 2014 now ranks as their worst ever showing at a World Cup. This for the nation that sowed Planet Futbols roots. They may have performed admirably against Brazil last spring when they drew the hosts 2-2 to launch the renovated Maracana but England and Brazilian World Cups make strange bedfellows. Humbled by the US, they also failed to advance from the group when Brazil last hosted in 1950. The tabloid daggers will be calling for Roy Hodgsons head.  Any thought of that, though, has been dismissed by the FA chairman, Greg Dyke who throws his full support behind the beleaguered manager and stated Hodgson would lead England through EURO 2016. From technical deficiencies, an inability to maintain possession or tactical naivety right on through the plethora of theories which abound, the plain fact of the matter is England dont do international football tournaments. Their 14th appearance at a World Cup, and outside of the lone triumph on home soil in 1966, Italia 90 was the only other time England have got past the quarterfinal stage Underprepared was the excuse trotted out for SA2010, what was it this time? An excuse which will get trotted out is the abundance of overseas players in the Barclays Premier League which limits the prospects and options of English players at the top level.  When I was a kid, England failed to qualify for the 1974 and 1978 World Cups at a time a significant majority of the players in the top flight were English.  It will take more than regular appointments with globally renowned Sports Psychologist, Dr. Steve Peters who joined Hodgsons backroom staff back in March, to understand why failure stalks and hounds England. Having worked marvels with the London 2012 GB Cycling Team, Peters was tasked with ensuring England played with an absence of fear. Hardly. Level heads dont aimlessly hoof balls away, as we often saw when Uruguay threatened. As all good dramas need a villain, so who better than Englands Tormentor in Chief on Thursday, Luis Suarez.  David Beckham filled that role in 1998 after he was sent off in the Round of 16 match against Argentina.  Such was the outcry still months later, an effigy of Beckham was hung up outside a pub near West Hams ground on the day Manchester United were playing at Upton Park. Anything like that occurs; Suarez could use it as reason not to return to Liverpool. Earlier on Friday the Spanish newspaper, El Mundo Deportivo reported there is a €80m ($110m) release clause in the Uruguayans contract that Barcelona are close to striking.  The post-match comments from Suarez where he rebuked the English public and took to task Roy Hodgson could be taken as an indicator of an Anfield exit strategy. In the mould of the French Football Federations Clairefontaine, or the FIGCs Coverciano facility the opening in late 2012 of St Georges Park which is home to all levels for both the England men and womens national teams will certainly be of benefit to the next generation.  However, for the more senior members of the squad this was their last shot at World Cup glory. Following one of his worst performances in an England shirt Thursday, where his mistakes led to both of Uruguays goals, it was not the way Steven Gerrard would have wanted to exit the international arena. The Liverpool captain is expected to announce his international retirement following the World Cup. This may come even as early as following the final whistle next Tuesday when Costa Rica will be looking for the scalp of a previous World Cup champ for a third straight time game.  Not bad for an island nation. Fourteen words to be exact. "Disappointed. I dont agree with it. It is what it is and move on," Dempsey said after the Seattle Sounders wrapped practice on Thursday. The real concern for some is that the suspension came right before a major U.S. national team exhibition against Mexico next Wednesday. By the time Dempsey takes the field against Mexico in Glendale, Ariz., it will have been more than two weeks since Dempsey last played. And while its just an exhibition, its significant because it will be the last U.S. match before World Cup camp begins in May. "Its a friendly, its not a World Cup qualifier so theres not much pressure that there would be if it was a World Cup qualifying game," Dempsey said. "But its still exciting to represent your country and to play against one of your rivals." Dempsey was suspended and fined for violent conduct toward Toronto FC defender Mark Bloom in a March 15 match. Dempsey hit Bloom in the stomach/groin area, a blow not seen by officials but that was captured by television cameras. Dempsey said after the match that he was trying to slap Blooms hand off his back and did not intend to strike his body. The MLS players union appealed but the suspension was upheld. Dempsey sat last week when Seattle won at Montreal and will be a spectator Saturday when the Sounders host Columbus. Hell return to MLS play on April 5 when Seattle travels to rival Portland. U.S. coach Jurgen Klinsmann was one of Dempseys most vocal supporters afteer the suspension was announced. Authentic Luke Kennard Jersey. He was quick to point out the number of fouls Dempsey has taken since returning to MLS. "Its very disappointing to see Clint be the only person punished from this game," Klinsmann said last week. "There is a foul against him in the sixth minute that should have been a red card. The persistent fouling continued throughout the game, and hes getting punished for a reaction following all those fouls. Yes he made a mistake, but if opponents dont get penalized for consistently fouling, it only encourages them to continue that approach." According to stats provided by MLS, Dempsey is the most fouled player in the league since Aug. 10 of last season. Dempsey, the U.S. captain, appreciated Klinsmanns concern. "Yeah, for sure its always good that the manager has your back and I appreciate that," Dempsey said. "All I can do is keep working hard and keep working on my fitness after training and making sure I play well when Im with the national team, like I have always done in the past. And make sure I keep playing good with the national team moving forward and pay him back for his faith in me." Dempsey said one solution to the fouls would be for more yellow cards to be handed out earlier in the match. He believes that could create a better rhythm to the game. "I think its important to protect every player," Dempsey said. "The sooner you start giving the cards for reckless fouls then it cuts down on a lot of things and it makes the game more exciting to watch because there is more free flow to it." Cheap Nike Chiefs Jerseys Chargers Jerseys China Wholesale Raiders Jerseys China Cowboys Jerseys China Cheap Giants Jerseys Hoodies Cheap Eagles Jerseys Free Shipping Cheap Nike Redskins Jerseys Lions Jerseys China Green Bay Packers Jerseys For Sale Wholesale Vikings Jerseys China Panthers Jerseys China Saints Jerseys China Cheap Buccaneers Jerseys Free Shipping Wholesale Cardinals Jerseys China Cheap Nike Rams Jerseys49ers Jerseys China Wholesale Seahawks Jerseys China Cheap Nike Bears Jerseys Bills Jerseys China Cheap Nike Ravens Jerseys Cheap Falcons Jerseys Hoodies ' ' '
PARIS -- Host France will play its first match of the 2016 European Championship at Stade de France, where the final and five other matches will also be played. Orioles Andrew Cashner Jersey . Every team will rotate and play their three group games in different stadiums during Euro 2016, organizers said on Friday. Stade de France, which hosted the 1998 World Cup final when France beat Brazil 3-0, has the most games during the June 10-July 10 event. Six matches will be played in Lille, Lyon and Marseille, five in Bordeaux and the Parc des Princes in Paris, and four in Lens, Nice, Saint-Etienne and Toulouse. Lille, Bordeaux, Marseille and Stade de France will host a quarterfinal each, and the semifinals will be held in Marseille and Lyon. It is the first Euro with the expanded 24-team format. The final games in each group will be played at the same time. The group winner and the team finishing second can meet again only if they reach the final, and there will be at least two days between matches in each stadium to help preserve the quality of the playing surface. The government will invest 160 million euros ($220 million) to help complete the renovation of stadiums. UEFA president Michel Platini, who is French, was at the news conference at the FFF headquarters. He confirmed he would be there for Frances opening group game. "I will most certainly be there," he said. "In what function, I dont know ... maybe as a volunteer." Platini, who is also a FIFA vice-president, has been touted as a potential successor to FIFA president Sepp Blatter, who is considering whether to stand for a fifth term next year. France won the past two tournaments it hosted, with midfield great Platini starring with nine goals in six matches when France won the European Championship in 1984. "The pressure isnt the same when youre playing (away) or at home," Platini said. "You have to win it when youre at home. Theyll do well at the 2014 World Cup and there will be big pressure to win it here." All teams have total freedom to choose their training camps. WATERLOO, Ont. Cheap Brewers Jerseys Gear . - It took 59 weeks for Stacy Lewis to knock Inbee Park out of the No. 1 spot in the LPGA rankings. Now the 29-year-old Texas native will be fighting hard to stay on top at the Manulife Financial Classic, beginning Thursday at Grey Silo Golf Course in Waterloo. Lewis reclaimed the LPGA lead from Park with a win last week at the ShopRite LPGA Classic in New Jersey, her second of the season. Park had leapfrogged Lewis in early 2013 when Park won the Kraft Nabisco Championship before the Tour took a week off. Lewis admitted that shes had a pretty hectic week so far, not arriving into Canada until Monday. "Its been a pretty cool week; a pretty whirlwind couple of days," she said. "Its was nice to get the win last week and getting the number one was just a bonus." Lewis, who has already finished in the top 10 in 10 tournaments this season, has to like her chances heading into Waterloo, where she has tied for fifth and sixth the previous two years. "Ive come here the last few years and played really well," she said. "I think its a golf course you have to make a ton of birdies on and I led the tour in birdies last year, and I think Im leading that stat this year, so I think that fits my game. You have to go out there and attack, and make as many birdies as you can. "This golf courses length is always an advantage, the par 5s are reachable and I think this year it will be even more of an advantage with the course playing a little bit softer. Id love to get another win, but at the same time, I just have to keep putting myself there and on Sunday, hopefully, the cards fall your way." The trick, she said, is not becoming too complacent and preparing the same way as she would for any other tournament, even though Park and No. 1 hopeful Lydia Ko are both at Grey Silo. "I feel like over the last year Ive put myself in position to win so many times that Im very comfortable," Lewis said. "Sunday last week, the nerves were there initially, but once we got going, I felt like if I took care of my game there was no way anybody was going to beat me." Someone else Lewis will have to watch for is returning champion Hee Young Park. The South Korean won the Manulife Financial Classic in dramatic fashion last year, beating Angela Stanford in a three-hole playoff. Stanford and Park both shot 26-under 258 at the tournament tying an LPGA record for lowest number of strokes at a four-day event. Park, ranked 23rd in the world, said she was eager to get back to familiar surroundings. "Actually this golf course is in perfect shape, everything, and I know how I was feeling and green conditions pretty much perfect, so easy to get used to it," she said. "(Earlier in the week there) was rain here so it got softer, so I can hit more aggressive, which is good." Park added that shes ready to defend her title, despite suffering a wrist injury "a few months ago". She said after some rest, the wrist feels fine. "It feels a lot better and Im back to pretty much normal, I can play," she said. "(The) last few weeks I played pretty good, so I think its ready." Lewis is hoping that the wind, which has whipped up the past few days, sticks around for the weekend on the links-style course. She feels that will keep scores down and her in contention. "I would much rather play a golf course when its playing hard than when its playing easy," she said. "Whats surprised me the last two years is that I have played well here, because I dont like courses that are just a straight birdie fest and you go crazy. I like it when its hard and you have to golf shots and things like that. "The wind this year, Im actually pretty excited about. Im excited that its going to play longer and not as short as in years passed. That gets me excited, I dont know about the other players." Besides the top three golfers in the world, there are seven Canadians in the field this year — Erica Rivard of Tecumseh, Ont., Nicole Vandermade of Brantford, Ont., Brooke Henderson of Smiths Falls, Ont., Sue Kim of Langley, B.C., Torontos Rebecca Lee-Betham, Hamiltons Alena Sharp and Jennifer Kirby of Paris, Ont.
